There but for the grace of god
The perfect world is on a roll
Awkwardly
Tumbling towards tolerance
With some added momentum
From surprising perspectives
It rolls on and on
Not stopping for the stubborn
Still insisting
On standing before it
As it resurrects
The side effects
Of one solitary life
To the indignation
Of the squashed
And delight of the gathered
Whom with one collective gasp
Determine
"To hell with them and theirs
We are going to enjoy this round
And who better to invoke the toast?"
